I GRADUATED!

Ok, so Tuesday (12/14/10) I officially graduated from the Disney College Program. And last week, I got my Mouseters!

Adventures...from 2 weeks ago

Ok, so before Mom and Aunt Barb got here I did some stuff, now I will tell you about it.

Tuesday (11/30/10), after I had class I went home and started working on putting all my photos in a photo album. The next day, Wednesday (12/1/10) I set off on an adventure. Zack, Amanda, and I decided we were going to venture forth to the Animal Kingdom. We had a superb time! We went on the ride DINOSAUR!, Primeval Whirl, TriceraTop Spin, Expedition Everest, Kilimanjaro Safari, and the Kali River Rapids ride.

After we enjoyed a day at the Animal Kingdom, we left and went to the place we always seem to end up at...The Magic Kingdom! At Magic Kingdom, we took pictures of Christmas decorations, harassed fellow co-workers doing 2-way for Wishes, and walked through the stores.

From Magic Kingdom, we went to the Beach Club resort to visit the Beaches and Cream Restaurant for the infamous KITCHEN SINK! Its scoops of vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, coffee, mint chocolate chip smothered with every topping we have: fudge, strawberries, caramel, pineapple, almonds, Oreos, Snickers, etc. To top it off, an entire can of Whip Cream is thrown on top. Needless to say, it was gone within 20 minutes. EPIC!

There you have it, a day of adventure. Later that week it was the filming of the Christmas parade seen on television. On the plus side, I got to see some celebrities: Ryan Secrest, Debbie Ryan, Amber, the girl who plays Mercedes on Glee. Christmas filming was stressful for both guests and cast members. And now its over, and people will see a beautiful parade on Christmas morning from the comfort of their homes.

Adventures with Mom and Aunt Barb

Ok, let me break it down for you.

Monday (12/6/10): I worked the day parade, had a 3 hour gap, went to park greeter, got an early release, and went to the College Program Winter Formal. Mom and Aunt Barb's plane go into Orlando around 7pm.
Tuesday (12/7/10): We had breakfast at the Ohana at the Polynesian Resort. There we ate and had Lilo, Stitch, Mickey, and Pluto came to our table while we ate. Then, we rode the monorail to the Magic Kingdom. At the Magic Kingdom, we watched the Move It! Shake It! Celebrate It! parade, rode Haunted Mansion, rode the Boat Landing, and went to the Hall of Presidents. Then, I had to leave and go to my last Entertainment Show Production. There we heard about Flounder's life and at the end got our Mouseters. After class, I went back to my apartment and put on some more layers of clothes since it was getting cold out and went back to the Magic Kingdom for the Mickey's Very-Merry Christmas Party! At the party, we saw all the shows: a "Totally Tomorrowland Christmas" Show, Mickey's Once Upon a Christmastime Parade, "Holiday Wishes- Celebrate the Spirit of the Season," and "Celebrate the Season" Show. Plus, we rode the Tea Cup ride and the Snow White ride. We got lots and lots of hot cocoa and cookies! And last, but not least, we met lots of characters: Eeyore, Tigger, the Seven Dwarfs, Donald Duck, Wendel, Big Al, Genie, Abu, and Santa. What a great night!!!

Wednesday (12/8/10): We went to the Animal Kingdom. There we went to Camp Minnie-Mickey and met Santa Goofy and ate a funnel cake while we waited to see the Festival of the Lion King. After the Festival, we met Brer Rabbit and Kodah. Then, we waited an hour for the Kilimanjaro Safari, and made it just in time to see Mickey's Jingle Jungle Parade. Next, we saw Finding Nemo the Musical, and just wandered. Later that night, we went to see Cirque de Soleil's La Nouba. IT WAS EPIC! I love Cirque. Every time I see the show, I leave in awe.

Thursday (12/9/10): Mom and Aunt Barb went to Tallahassee to visit Jenny, and I went to work.

Friday (12/10/10): We had a Candlelight Processional dinner reservation package deal to eat at the Coral Reef in Epcot. The Coral Reef is a cute restaurant with a perfect view of the aquarium in Epcot's Seas. We had delicious food and then saw the Candlelight Processional with Whoopi Goldberg as our narrator reading the Christmas scriptures. I almost cried at how beautiful of a show it was. After the show, we saw the fireworks show, Illuminations: Reflections from Earth. Then, we left Epcot and visited the Grand Floridian to view their Christmas decorations. Then, we took the monorail back to Epcot, to get the full monorail experience.

Saturday (12/11/10): We went to Mom and Aunt Barb's hotel for breakfast, went grocery shopping, went hot tubing at their hotel, and then Hollywood Studios. At Hollywood Studios, we saw Walt Disney's One Man's Dream show, the Block Party Bash, Beauty and the Beast, the Backlot Tour (where I got to play the mechanic in the stunt show), the Osbourne Spectacle of Lights, the Muppet 3D show, and Fantasmic! There we got to meet Mike Wazowski, Sulley, Lightning McQueen, and Tow Mater.

I FINALLY GOT MY TURKEY LEG EXPERIENCE!
Sunday (12/12/10): Mom and Aunt Barb brought breakfast over to my apartment, then we went Downtown Disney and wandered most of the day. We also did some shopping, eating, and site seeing. My favorite thing that we ate was dark chocolate ice cream at the Ghiradelli store. When we left, we put together some pictures in the scrapbooks. Then, we ate at Panera, and went back to Mom and Aunt Barb's hotel and I stayed the night there.

Monday (12/13/10): We got up at 4am, and they dropped me off at my apartment. There, we said our goodbyes because their plane was leaving at 7am. Now, I'm in my apartment updating my blog and putting together photo albums. And later today I work.

Happy Turkey Day! [GOBBLE GOBBLE]

So kids, its been a while, so let me quickly catch you up to date on my life. I've been working a lot. Every single day last week was spent at the Magic Kingdom. I worked about 48 hours, and this week I get to do it all over again. But on the plus side, I got two days off from the work! Also, since I've been working a lot and the holiday discount went up to 50% on merchandise, I've been spending a lot. So, when I haven't been working, but have been at Magic Kingdom, I've been doing some Christmas shopping.

Here are some pictures of me at work:

Now then, onto what I know you all want to hear about...TURKEY DAY!
Thursday (11/ 25/10) was Thanksgiving and the plan was for me to host a Thanksgiving meal with some co-workers and my roommates. I was going to provide the turkey, ham, cheese, and location, and everyone else coming was to bring five dollars and a dish of their own. Earlier in the week I had had a minor freakout over what I was going to do for the holiday meat, so asked my managers about the idea of buying turkey legs and just doing it that way. Little did I know, what a rip off that way is. I could buy an entire cooked turkey and ham for the price it would cost me to buy 9 turkey legs at the parks. And that's exactly what I ended up doing, I bought the turkey and ham pre-cooked from Boston Market, along with some chicken noodle soup.

So, Thursday the plan was get up around 8am, clean, get the food from Boston Market at 10, and have people show up anywhere between 10 and 1. Unfortunately, I have this thing where once every semester I simply refuse to get up for my alarm. Now its not that I just refuse, its that I'll subconsciously hear the alarm go off, turn it off, and wake up about an hour after I needed to be somewhere. In this case, I awoke at 10:30am, throwing off all my plans of being a grand hostess.
FRANTIC me waking up late!
In my state of chaos and confusion, I ran to my phone to realize I had 13 missed calls and 9 new text messages. I rushed out into my living room and said some bad things--man, at this time, I was running late! Plus, my ride to get the turkey decided to put stuff in her oven, so was unable to come to my aid. Instead, I frantically called Nick, who came and picked me up to collect the turkey, ham, and soup. He luckily came to my rescue and we got the key food items for the day. Then, we returned to Vista Way and got things organized for Turkey Day. Lucky for me I have such great friends to help out, because Nick helped me get a ride, and Brittany actually stayed at my apartment and helped clean and get stuff prepared for the day while I ventured off to get the turkey. Brittany is my hero! After we returned with the food, people slowly began to trickle in, and finally at 2pm once our final guests arrived we got our food, and went around the room saying what we were each thankful for. It was a touching day. I had a lot of fun and was happy that I had good friends with whom I could spend it with. After the party ended, I sadly had to go to work to help make others nights just as magical.

THANKSGIVING 2010
After an intense game of Guesstures, Amanda and I dance to "I'm On A Boat.
The next day was Friday (11/26/10) Black Friday, and I went to the outlet malls near the college program housing for a little while and got a dress and Twins shirt. Then I saw Tangled, a really cute movie I might add. And finally, I went to work. Saturday, I got up early went to ESPN Wide World of Sports and worked the Harlem Globetrotters basketball game. I started off helping with the entrances, then they moved me to turnstiles once they found out I had an ATS code. Eww.... After ESPN, I went back to the Magic Kingdom to work some more. Now today was Sunday, and I FINALLY got to see Harry Potter 7: Part 1. It was good, but there were a few things that I had to question. For instance, what was up with that weird scene where Harry and Hermione randomly decide to dance? Or later, when Ron sees Harry and Hermione naked making out! I was shocked!!! Anywho, yep, just  a few random things bothered me, but once I got done with the movie I went to work again. Surprise, surprise. And so ends my day of fun. Good night and good luck!
